How much money per year will be available for program funding? And how does that compare to what would be available if Measure NN does not pass?
Current projections are that $11 Million per year will be available to an array of community programs including those mentoring vulnerable youth to keep them out of the justice system, those serving victims of domestic violence and human trafficking, and those implementing Ceasefire and other proven community violence intervention strategies to prevent violence from escalating. There are currently 24 funded community organizations working in neighborhoods across the city with hundreds of frontline workers whose sole funding is through this measure.
